Legends League Cricket (LLC) has taken legal action against former cricketer Sreesanth after his recent remarks targeting India Capitals skipper Gautam Gambhir. Sreesanth alleged that Gambhir labeled him a ‘fixer’ during a match, leading to a legal notice from LLC citing a breach of the league’s code of conduct.
The notice addressed Sreesanth’s violation of his contract during the tournament. LLC has reportedly indicated a willingness to engage with Sreesanth once he removes all videos criticizing Gambhir, aligning with the league’s regulations. However, reports from umpires and match officials regarding the incident do not corroborate Sreesanth’s claims about Gambhir’s alleged comment.
During India Capitals’ match against Manipal Tigers, Sreesanth seemingly celebrated Gambhir’s dismissal in Qualifier 2 by acknowledging Amitoze Singh’s crucial contribution with a direct throw that sent the seasoned left-hander back to the pavilion.
In response, Sreesanth’s wife, Bhuvneshwari Kumari, defended her husband on social media while condemning Gambhir’s conduct, questioning his sportsmanship and upbringing in light of the incident.
Expressing her dismay, she stated, “It is so shocking to hear from Sree that a player who has played for India with him for many years can stoop to this level. Even after so many years of retirement from active cricket. After all, upbringing matters a lot, and it shows up when this kind of behavior comes up on the ground. Shocking, truly shocking.”
Meanwhile, Gambhir has refrained from commenting directly on the issue. He shared a cryptic message on his social media platforms without providing details about the incident. Intriguingly, a recent video surfaced showing Sreesanth attempting to sledge Gambhir while the latter was batting, preceding the reported altercation between the two players.
