Former Indian batsman Mohammad Kaif stated MS Dhoni is one of India’s greatest match-winners. On 23 June 2013, MS Dhoni had completed the hat-trick of ICC trophies as he had clinched the Champions Trophy after earlier securing T20 World Cup, 50-overs World Cup. Dhoni had become the first International captain to win all the three major trophies. Subsequently, Kaif gave his tribute to one of India’s best captains.
Kaif also reckons that Dhoni still has a lot to offer to the Indian cricket. Dhoni had last played in the Indian colours back in the 2019 World Cup semi-final loss against New Zealand. Subsequently, he took a break from International cricket and made himself unavailable for national selection.
In fact, many of the cricket boffins believe that Dhoni’s return to the Indian colours depends on his performance in the Indian Premier League. However, the tournament is hanging on by a thin thread due to the outbreak of the coronavirus.
Furthermore, players like Harbhajan Singh who have observed Dhoni from close corners in the training camp of Chennai Super Kings feel that Dhoni doesn’t want to once again play for the national team though he will continue to play in the IPL.
Meanwhile, Kaif added that Dhoni is a fine captain and a champion player. Dhoni has been a massive servant of Indian cricket and he has been instrumental in the success of the team in the last 15 years. The right-hander is regarded as one of the best captains, finishers and wicket-keeper to have ever embraced the game.

MS Dhoni was able to tick almost all the right boxes in his illustrious career and he is one of the shrewdest minds to have played the game. Dhoni scored 10773 runs in 350 ODI matches at an average of 50.57.
