India’s talisman Suryakumar Yadav is batting in a beast mode. SKY was once again at his absolute best as he scored an unbeaten knock of 111 runs off just 51 balls against New Zealand in the second T20I at the Bay Oval, Mount Maunganui on Sunday.
Yadav’s breathtaking knock was hailed all across the globe and Virat Kohli also wrote a congratulatory tweet for his teammate. Kohli said he didn’t see the innings but it must have been another video game knock from SKY.
While speaking to Yuzvendra Chahal regarding the same, Yadav admitted that there are no cheat codes in his batting.
Speaking to Yuzvendra Chahal on the latest edition of Chahal TV, he said: “I would like to mention that, there is no cheat code, I have always been doing the same things that I do in the nets, and I play the same game wherever I play. I change nothing, just playing according to the format and with good intent, which is very important in this particular format.”
Yadav is known to hit the ground running on most occasions and there is just no fear of failure in his batting as he hits aerial shots from the get-go. The 32-year-old feels you enjoy the game more when the fear of failure goes down, which is imperative in the shortest format of the game.
“I look to play with positive intent in this format, I don’t think too much before batting because the time to think is during practice. You cannot afford to take too much pressure on the field, you just need to enjoy.”
He continued: “The one thing I have learned since the time I have been playing, if the percentage of your fear of failure goes down, then you do not bring too much baggage, you enjoy your game and that is what I try to do.”
SKY has been in the form of his life and he would want to continue the good show in the upcoming matches. In the absence of Virat Kohli, SKY had batted at one down and did a fine job for the team.
India took a 1-0 lead in the series after winning by a huge margin of 65 runs. The third T20I of the series will be played at McLean Park, Napier on Tuesday.
