Quetta Gladiators will begin their Pakistan Super League 2023 campaign against the previous season’s runners-up Multan Sultans at the Multan Cricket Stadium, Multan on Wednesday. Multan Sultans lost their opening game against Lahore Qalandars by one run in a thrilling contest and they will be looking to bounce back against the Gladiators.
In fact, the Mohammad Rizwan-led team was cruising in the run-chase against the Qalandars but they could not add the finishing touches.
On the other hand, Quetta Gladiators will be looking to make a winning start to their tournament. The Gladiators will be led by Sarfaraz Ahmed and they have players like Jason Roy, Martin Guptill, Umar Akmal, Naseem Shah, Wanindu Hasaranga, Odean Smith, and Iftikhar Ahmed in their ranks, who all can deliver on the big stage.
Meanwhile, Multan Sultans have a potent middle order as they have batters like David Miller and Kieron Pollard but both of them failed to get them over the line in the opening game.
Quetta Gladiators had failed to make it to the playoff stages in the previous season and they will be looking to turn the tables this season.
