South Africa will lock horns against India in the third and final ODI of the three-match series at Boland Park, Paarl on Thursday. The Proteas were able to bounce back in the second ODI as they registered a convincing eight-wicket victory on Tuesday.
India’s batting struggled on a difficult pitch and they were skittled out for a paltry score of 211 runs. Sai Sudharsan and skipper KL Rahul scored fine fifties but the rest of the batters could not show resistance in testing conditions. None of the other Indian batters could not go past the 20-run mark.
On the other hand, Nandre Burger was the pick of the South African bowlers, picking three wickets. Furthermore, Keshav Maharaj and Beuran Hendricks bagged two wickets for South Africa.
Meanwhile, Tony de Zorzi scored his maiden ODI century to help the hosts get over the line. Reeza Hendricks also scored a crucial knock of 52 runs for the Proteas.
Ergo, South Africa will look to continue the good show whereas the young Indian team will aim to bounce back.
For India, Sai Sudharsan has impressed as he has scored two fifties in his first two ODI matches and the left-hander will aim to carry his good form.
Arshdeep Singh has also impressed for the visitors and his performances in the first two matches would have given him a shot in the arm.
Match Prediction: Despite loss in the second game, India will start as slightly favorites against South Africa.
