Former Indian batter Suresh Raina has picked his favorite international knock. Raina picked his maiden T20I century against South Africa during the 2010 T20 World Cup as his favorite knock. The left-hander had became the first Indian batter to score a T20I century, scoring 101 runs off just 60 balls.

“The T20I century for India. I was the first player to score a hundred and we won that game too. That was special. In the IPL, there are many knocks, but scoring that first hundred for India, that was special,” Suresh Raina said on Aakash Chopra’s YouTube Channel.

On the other hand, Raina shared some great partnerships with former skipper MS Dhoni. He picked his century against Zimbabwe in the 2015 ODI World Cup as his favorite knock while playing with MS Dhoni. 

India was under some pressure at 92-4; however, Raina and Dhoni scored unbeaten knocks of 110 and 86 runs, respectively. The pair added 196 runs for the fifth wicket to help India chase down the target of 288 and register a six-wicket win.

“The pressure one was against Zimbabwe when I scored a hundred, and he batted with me. We were chasing and were four down. It was a pressure game, as we were going to qualify if we won that,” he said.

Raina picked the 2015 World Cup semifinal match against Australia as the one game he would like to go back and play again. India suffered a 95-run loss and was knocked out of the tournament.

“The 2015 World Cup semifinal. I felt I was batting well, but I got out. We had started well. I feel we could have batted better, as the dream was to win back-to-back World Cups. I feel we gave away too many runs. If I could reverse that, I would want to go back and score 80-90 not out. We could have chased it.”

Raina announced his retirement in August 2020.
