Indian captain Rohit Sharma has heaped praise on Suryakumar Yadav for his sublime form. Sharma revealed that Yadav will continue to bat in an aggressive manner in the all-important semi-final against England.
The Mumbai batter has scored 225 runs in five matches at an average of 75 and a strike rate of 193.97. SKY has batted like a dream for the Indian team and he has been able to deliver the goods consistently.
The 32-year-old has been able to hit the ground running on most occasions and ticks all the right boxes. Furthermore, SKY had recently scored a magnum opus knock of 117 runs in the third T20I against England.
Rohit Sharma told reporters, “He (SKY) is a sort of guy who doesn’t carry baggage. Not suitcases. He has plenty of them because he does the shopping. He has been playing like this year. He likes to go out and express himself. That is why he was there in the last World Cup. As we say, the sky is the limit for him.”
On the other hand, Rohit feels SKY has been able to take the pressure off the other batters with his blistering strike rate. The Indian skipper revealed the right-hander likes playing on bigger grounds as he can hit the gaps consistently.
“He has taken pressure from others. He knows and understands his game. He knows what bowlers are doing. As he told me that he doesn’t like smaller grounds. He likes to play on the bigger ground because he can see the gap in the bigger ground.”
SKY is known to play according to the field and he has been scoring all across the ground. The right-hander comes up with extraordinary strokeplay and it is almost impossible for the batters to bowl at him.
There is no doubt that SKY is going to hold the key for the team against England on Thursday and the team would want him to be at his absolute best.
