England captain Jos Buttler is confident to face India’s swing master Bhuvneshwar Kumar in the semi-final clash at the Adelaide Oval on Thursday. Kumar has had his wood on Buttler in the T20I format as he has dismissed him on five occasions.
Furthermore, Buttler hasn’t had a great run in the ongoing T20 World Cup. The right-hander though had scored a crucial knock of 73 runs off 47 balls against New Zealand in the must-win fixture for Three Lions.
On the other hand, Bhuvneshwar Kumar has got the ball to swing in the Australian conditions and he has been right on the money. Kumar has taken four wickets in five matches but most importantly he has bowled with an economy rate of 5.40 despite bowling majorly in the PowerPlay overs.
Speaking at the pre-match press conference, Jos Buttler said, “I’m always confident in my own game. I think there are always certain bowlers that you potentially find harder than others and or at certain times in your career. You have good times against them or bad times against them.
“But I certainly don’t fear anyone. I always prepare well and I look to play the ball in front of me and not the bowler.”
Meanwhile, Buttler revealed that all the players are excited about the big match against India and they are looking forward to giving their best.
“We are all really excited about the match. You know in my opinion in one of the best stadiums in the world against a brilliant Indian team which will be well supported tomorrow. So, it’s going to be a great occasion and you know these are the times that you want to be involved as a player.”
There is no doubt that Jos Buttler is going to hold the key for England at the top of the order and he will look to provide a good start with Alex Hales, who has done a fine job for the team.
Similarly, Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Arshdeep Singh have been right on the money for India in the PowerPlay overs and they would try to give an early breakthrough to their team. Singh has taken 10 wickets in the five matches of the T20I showpiece.
