Bangladesh captain Shakib Al Hasan has admitted that India would be under pressure when the two teams take on each other in the ongoing T20 World Cup 2022 on Wednesday at the Adelaide Oval. Hasan opined India will be the favorite as they have come to Australia with the expectations of going all the way whereas they have no pressure on their shoulders.
Bangladesh won their previous match against Zimbabwe by only three runs. However, the Tigers suffered a huge loss of 104 runs against South Africa.
On the other hand, India also lost against the Proteas by five wickets in their last game and they will look to return back to winning ways. India’s batting was not up to the mark and they will be looking to turn the tables.
“We haven’t come here to win the World Cup, but India have. If we win tomorrow, it will be an upset victory. India are favorites tomorrow,” Shakib told reporters on the eve of the game.
Temperature is expected to hover around 10-degree celsius and the weather is going to be a challenge for both of these teams on Wednesday.
“It is a little difficult. Hobart was very cold and here it’s cold. It is difficult to adjust to this cold but most players have at some point played here. You can’t change the weather but we have to manage it,” he said.
Meanwhile, Shakib Al Hasan heaped praise on Suryakumar Yadav as the right-hander is in the form of his life. The all-rounder feels India has a phenomenal batting order. Hasan also revealed that they have their plans in place for the opposition.
“If you aren’t good, you won’t be playing World Cup for India. It is a phenomenal batting order,” he said.
“We will have our plans in place, but not necessarily, those solutions will work. All eleven players are capable and we have to do with resources that we have,” said the skipper.
