West Indies will lock horns against the USA in the 46th match of the ongoing T20 World Cup 2024 at the Kensington Oval, Bridgetown, Barbados on Friday. Both of these teams suffered losses in their opening match of the Super 8 stage and this will be a must-win game for both of them.
The Windies posted 180 runs against England and they will want to come up with a better batting show against the USA. All of the WI batters got off to starts against the English team but none of them could go past the 40-run mark. Thus, they will look to convert their starts into substantial scores.
Romario Shepherd was taken for 30 runs in the 16th over by Phil Salt and it turned out to be a game-changing moment. Furthermore, their two left-arm spinners – Akeal Hosein and Gudakesh Motie – went wicketless.
On the other hand, the USA will need to come up with a collective bowling show. While Saurabh Netravalkar and Harmeet Singh continued to impress as they bagged two wickets apiece against the Proteas, the other bowlers failed to deliver.
Furthermore, Andries Gous scored a fine knock of 80 runs off 47 balls but he was the lone warrior in the run-chase of 195.
