As the spring season gets ready to embrace North India, the T20 World Cup 2026 has been nothing short of drama. The Associate nations have punched above their weight in the T20I showpiece, which has kept the spectators at the edge of their seats. Another such Associate country – Namibia, will play a do-or-die contest against a potent Indian team at the Arun Jaitley Stadium, Delhi on Thursday.
India’s batting order had crumbled against the USA at the Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai, but Tilak Varma said in the pre-match press conference that head coach Gautam Gambhir was not too critical of their performance.
India was brilliant in the T20I series against New Zealand and they would want to carry the same form against Namibia after a poor show against the Americans. It would be imperative for the batters to play according to the situation and conditions while also not swaying away from their aggressive approach.
The small Delhi ground and a flat pitch will be the most welcoming thing for the Indian batters, who would want to carry the confidence ahead of the high-octane clash against arch-rivals Pakistan.
On the other hand, Namibia could not deliver with the bat against the Netherlands, and they would want to come up with a better show. The team’s captain, Gerhard Erasmus, cheekily said he doesn’t know why India has had two days to practice at night, whereas they haven’t been given one opportunity.
