India plays Bangladesh for the second test in Dhaka but the shock came ahead of the game as the Man of the Match of the previous game, Kuldeep Yadav is snubbed for Jaydev Unadkat who makes a return to the Indian white after 12 years. It came as a major shock for fans and critics alike as they simply could not believe their eyes. Kuldeep Yadav was sensational in the Chattogram match and to be axed in the next game after getting the Man of the Match award is simply unbelievable.
When the news came in, Sunil Gavaskar was simply in disbelief as he felt it was unbelievable to see someone like Kuldeep get dropped after a superb performance like the last one in Chattogram. Gavaskar criticized India’s think tank for the decision to drop the left arm leg spinner as he felt that dropping one of Axar or Ravichandran Ashwin was more ideal than dropping an inform bowler like Kuldeep.
Speaking ahead of the game, Gavaskar lashed out with anger after he saw Kuldeep Yadav dropped for a pacer. “To drop a Man of the Match is absolutely unbelievable…and unbelievable is a very gentle word. I want to use more harsh words. You drop a player who picked eight out of 20 wickets in the last game and have two other spinners. One of those two should have been dropped and he should have played no matter what,” he told on Sony Network’s pre show.
Kuldeep yadav picked up a five wicket haul and also scored crucial 40 runs in the first innings of the Chattogram test as he announced his comeback to the test team after 22 months. He even picked up three wickets in the second innings aswell and kept the Bangladeshi batters on their toes.
KL Rahul who is the stand in captain for the Indian Test team called it a very unfortunate decision to leave out Kuldeep. Jaydev Unadkat who has replaced him in the team is making a comeback to the team after 12 long years. This will be Jaydev Unadkat’s first match since 2010 against South Africa which was his test debut for the country.
Unadkat has been extremely consistent in the domestic circuit for some time now and hence he was rewarded with a call up earlier and now he is given a chance in the starting eleven. Unadkat will be looking to make a mark as he has replaced Kuldeep who was in top form.
Bangladesh captain Shakib Al Hasan won the toss and decided to bat first. India will look to pick early wickets and take early advantage in the game.
