West Indies’ Preparatory Squad for India Test Series Announced

The upcoming multi-format series between the West Indies and India is set to ignite the cricketing stage. Ahead of the series, Cricket West Indies unveiled their 18-man squad for the preparation camp, signaling their dedication to fielding a competitive team. However, the absence of several key players cannot be overlooked, as they are currently engrossed in the ongoing ODI World Cup Qualifiers.

Under the captaincy of Kraigg Brathwaite, the Windies are gearing up for the challenges that lie ahead. The squad features notable names such as Kemar Roach, Jermaine Blackwood, Tagenarine Chanderpaul, Rahkeem Cornwall, and more. Each player brings a unique set of abilities and experience, adding depth and variety to the team’s composition.

Cricket West Indies took to Twitter to make the official announcement, stating, “CWI Men’s Selection Panel today named the 18-member squad for the preparation camp ahead of the two-match Test Series against India in the Caribbean. Camp starts at CCG in Antigua on Friday, 30 June. The team travels to Dominica on Sunday 9 July.” This declaration generated excitement among fans and further intensified the anticipation surrounding the series.

On the other side, the Indian team also revealed their squad for the Test series. With their arrival in the Caribbean during the first week of July, India aims to acclimate themselves to the conditions and prepare for the rigorous challenges they will face.

The Indian squad boasts a star-studded lineup, including the likes of Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, Mohammed Shami, as well as emerging talents like Yashasvi Jaiswal, Mukesh Kumar, and Ruturaj Gaikwad.
