Former Indian batter Mohammed Kaif feels Yashasvi Jaiswal is more than ready for the International level. Jaiswal scored a match-winning knock of 84 runs off just 51 balls in the fourth T20I against the West Indies at the Central Broward Regional Park Stadium Turf Ground, Lauderhill, Florida on Saturday.
The southpaw took the attack against the opposition from the get-go and played at the top of his game. The left-hander scored 11 fours and three sixes in his blistering knock and played a key role in the run-chase of 179 as India comprehensively won by nine wickets.
Jaiswal added a fine opening alliance of 165 runs with Shubman Gill, who scored 77 runs from 47 balls.
Meanwhile, earlier on the West Indies tour, Jaiswal scored a fine knock of 171 runs on his Test debut. Jaiswal amassed a total of 266 runs in two Test matches at an average of 88.67 against the West Indies and ended as the leading run-getter of the series.
“This boy YASHASVI is more than ready!!,” Kaif posted on his Twitter account.
Earlier in May, Kaif had showered praise on Jaiswal for his impressive IPL performances.
Kaif had tweeted, “Openers usually are troubled by spinners but not Jaiswal. Not a big fan of fast-tracking IPL star but this boy is ready to wear India colours.” 🇮🇳#yashasvi
Jaiswal scored 625 runs in 14 IPL 2023 matches at an average of 48.08 and a strike rate of 163.61 and thus he was awarded Emerging Player of the Tournament.
On the other hand, former Indian batter Robin Uthappa also showered praise on Yashasvi Jaiswal and Shubman Gill after their impressive show in the fourth T20I. Gill also scored a fine knock of 77 runs off just 47 balls and returned back to form.
“Sublime Yashasvi Jaiswal and Shubman Gill. Kuldeep Yadav and Arshdeep Singh doing what they do best ??! The win sets up an exciting series finale tomorrow #INDvsWI,” Uthappa posted on Twitter.
The fifth and deciding T20I of the series will be played at the same venue of Central Broward Regional Park Stadium Turf Ground, Lauderhill, Florida on Sunday.
