India will take on table toppers New Zealand at the Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association Stadium, Dharamsala on Sunday. The Kiwis have proved to be a thorn in India’s flesh in World Cups and the Rohit Sharma-led team will aim to come up with their best.
Both of these teams are in prime form, winning all of their four matches. In fact, all the matches of the ongoing World Cup have been one-sided but this contest could be a nail-biter between the two best teams so far.
India won their previous match against Bangladesh comprehensively by seven wickets whereas New Zealand won their last game against Afghanistan by a mammoth margin of 149 runs.
India has been brilliant with the ball and they have kept the opposition to below-par scores in all the four matches they have played. Thus, their bowling battery has made life easy for their batters in the ongoing World Cup. But Hardik Pandya is set to miss the game against the Kiwis due to an ankle injury.
On the other hand, New Zealand has also come up with a collective show with both bat and ball.
Ishan Kishan requires 67 runs to complete the 1000-run mark in the ODI format.
Virat Kohli needs three more sixes to reach 150 maximums in ODI format.
KL Rahul needs 59 runs to complete 2,500 runs in the ODI version.
Shubman Gill needs 14 runs to reach the 2000-run mark in the 50-over version.
Shreyas Iyer requires 102 runs to get to the milestone of 2000 ODI runs.
Will Young need 58 runs to reach the 1000-run mark in the ODI format.
New Zealand’s stand-in skipper Tom Latham requires 82 runs to get to the landmark of 4000 runs.
Lockie Ferguson needs five more wickets to reach 100 scalps in the 50-over version.
