India’s rising star Yashasvi Jaiswal feels he has learned a lot by playing with Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma. The veteran recently retired from T20Is after taking India to glory in the T20 World Cup. Jaiswal was also part of India’s World Cup-winning squad but didn’t get a game as Kohli was backed to open with Rohit.
Meanwhile, Jaiswal is batting at his absolute best in the T20I series against Zimbabwe. After missing the first two games, Jaiswal scored a decent knock of 36 runs in the third T20I.
The left-hander smashed a blistering knock of 93 runs off just 53 balls in the fourth T20I at the Harare Sports Club, Harare on Saturday. The youngster added 156 runs for the opening alliance with captain Shubman Gill, who scored 58 off 39 balls. Thus, they helped India in registering a 10-wicket win to take a 3-1 lead in the series.
“I think what they have done for Indian cricket is just incredible and being a part of that dressing room is a blessing. We (him and Gill) are trying to take it match-by-match and one day at a time, focussing on the process,” Jaiswal said in the post-match conference.
“It does help to control emotions a lot and read the game better as there are different situations on the ground. And every time you talk to Rohit bhai or Virat bhaiyya, I get a lot of experience, enjoy talking to them and learning from them,” Jaiswal said.
The Mumbai batter said he wants to take one game at a time and keep improving at the international level.
“To be honest, a lot of things happened in my life. I am really enjoying it. I just try take one day at a time and make sure I enjoy the moment which is very important. Everything else is in God’s hands and whatever he gives, I will take it,” he concluded.
The fifth and final T20I of the series will be played at the Harare Sports Club, Harare on Sunday.
