India will lock horns against Zimbabwe in the fourth T20I at the Harare Sports Club, Harare on Saturday. After winning the third T20I by 23 runs, India took a 2-1 lead in the series and the visitors will want to clinch the series in the penultimate game of the tour.
India was able to post a par score of 182 runs on the board in the last game with Shubman Gill and Ruturaj Gaikwad scoring 66 and 49 respectively. Yashasvi Jaiswal also scored a decent knock of 36 runs off 27 balls to provide a good start to the team.
Furthermore, Washington Sundar was the pick of the Indian bowlers, returning with impressive figures of 3-15 in his quota of four overs. Sundar accounted for Zimbabwean captain Sikandar Raza, Jonathan Campbell, and Clive Madande. Moreover, Khaleel Ahmed, who was dropped from the second T20I, bagged 1-15 in his spell whereas Avesh Khan scalped two wickets.
Meanwhile, India’s fifth and sixth bowling options – Abhishek Sharma and Shivam Dube – conceded 50 runs in the four overs they bowled collectively and the team will want to go back to the strategy of playing five genuine bowlers.
On the other hand, Zimbabwe was once again sloppy in the field and it led to their downfall. Furthermore, the hosts have failed to come up with a collective effort with both bat and ball in the last two matches. Their openers have also let them down and they need to provide a good start to the team.
