All the Hero Indian Super League teams have played 10 or more matches in the ongoing season, except ATK Mohun Bagan as we head into the second phase of the tournament. There have been some eye-catching performances from fine strikers and we will take a look at the top three goal-scorers of the eighth season thus far.
- Bartholomew Ogbeche, 9 goals in 10 matches – The Nigerian striker continues to impress in the Hero ISL. Ogbeche has played a key role in the success of Hyderabad FC as he has thus far scored nine goals in 10 matches he has played. Hyderabad FC is currently in third place with four wins from 11 matches while they have lost two games and five have ended in a draw.
- Igor Angulo, 8 goals in 11 matches – Once again it is not surprising to note Igor Angulo is among the top goal scorers of the season. Angulo has continued to impress in the Hero ISL and he is making the most of his experience in the tournament.
The Spanish footballer has found the back of the net on eight occasions in 11 matches for the reigning champions Mumbai City FC. Furthermore, the veteran has also provided two assists for the defending champions.
The Islanders have managed five wins from their 11 games while they have lost four
and two of their matches have ended in a draw.
- Deshorn Brown, 6 goals in 7 matches – NorthEast United striker Deshorn Brown has been a lone warrior for his team. The Jamaican has scored six goals in seven matches for the club and he is the team’s best performer thus far. Moreover, Brown has also provided one assist for the club in the ongoing season.
However, NorthEast United have managed only two wins in 11 matches and they are
currently in the 10th place in the standings.
