ISL 2022-23: My philosophy is to improve the players that I coach: Jamshedpur FC new coach Aidy Boothroyd

Jamshedpur FC’s new head coach Aidy Boothroyd has revealed that his philosophy will be to improve the players which he coaches. Boothroyd comes in with a huge amount of experience and he will be looking to get the best out of his players in the upcoming season of the Hero Indian Super League.

The experienced campaigner recently worked with Football Association (TheFA) and managed the England youth teams. Boothroyd is excited to join Jamshedpur FC and he will be looking to take the club to new heights in the upcoming seasons.

Boothroyd began his managerial career with Watford back in 2005 when he was only 34 years old. He has more than 17 years of experience as a head coach and knows how to get the best out of his players.

Thus, he will look to hit the ground running at Jamshedpur FC and get his players on the right track.

Boothroyd will replace Owen Coyle as Jamshedpur FC head coach and he will look to deliver the goods for the team.

“My philosophy is to get the best out of the players that I am coaching. Make them individually better. For example, my team at Watford was not technically the best, but physically and mentally we were very strong with key players in key positions,” Boothroyd told The Times of India.

The Englishman admitted that it is not going to be easy but he is looking forward to the challenges that lay ahead.

“I know it’s not going to be easy. You should never go to a job that is very successful. To try and win after winning could be the hardest thing to do. But I am excited about the challenges here,” he said.

Meanwhile, Jamshedpur FC is refreshing their squad and Boothroyd added that they will have to welcome the change in the upcoming season.

“You have to be prepared for change, and in football, things change very quickly. We will be refreshing the squad for success, with some new players into the fold. Not too many, because of the good work that they did last season,” Boothroyd said.

Jamshedpur FC had topped the points table in the previous season of the Hero ISL and had won their maiden Winners Shield in the tournament after winning 13 out of their 20 matches. Ergo, Boothroyd will look to continue guiding the team on the right track.
