Mumbai City FC’s new signing Jakub Vojtus is hopeful of making the club’s fans happy by winning the Indian Super League 2023-24 title. The Slovakian forward started his footballing career with MKS Zilma before grabbing the attention in Italy. Vojtus is a product of the youth system of Inter Milan and played across several clubs in Poland and Romania.
Vojtuš last played for the Romanian side ACSM Politehnica Iasi, where he scored three goals in 22 games. The striker has also represented Slovakia in different age groups.
“I am excited to join Mumbai City FC and I hope we can win together the title and achieve the objective the club has,” Jakub Vojtus said in an exclusive interview with Mumbai City FC.
He further said: “Honestly, I didn’t expect that I would receive an offer like that from India. Today finally I can join my teammates because it was a national break and everybody I think wasn’t here, they had a few days’ holidays. I came on Monday and did the last medical test to sign the contract. I’m really excited to meet them and can’t wait for the training.”
Vojtus added he will aim to score goals and provide assists to his team to play a key role in the success of the team.
“My target for myself like a striker I hope that I can help with the goals and with the assists to the team and with my best performance on the pitch. This is my target because football is not an individual sport. I like to help my teammates and to reach the top.”
Meanwhile, Mumbai City FC currently stands at the numero uno position in the league table with 39 points from 19 matches, having won 11 of them and drawn six.
Ergo, the Petr Kratky’s side has a great chance to defend their League Shield title but they have played one more match than Mohun Bagan Super Giant, who also have 39 points under their belt.
Mumbai City FC has three matches remaining in the ongoing League Stage against Hyderabad FC, Odisha FC, and Mohun Bagan Super Giant and they will carry on the good show.
