Bengaluru FC has signed the services of Spanish defensive midfielder Pedro Capo. The Spaniard has signed a one-year deal with the Blues, which will keep him at the club until the end of the ISL 2024-25 season.
Capo will fill in the shoes of Keziah Veendorp, who parted ways with the club last week. The Spaniard can also play in the center-back position for Bengaluru FC.
Capo has the experience of playing for teams like Celta de Vigo B, RCD Mallorca B, CD Atlético Baleares, Arroyo CP, CD Llosetense, SD Leioa, and CE Sabadell FC.
Expressing his delight at signing with Bengaluru FC, Capó said, “I’m really glad to have signed with Bengaluru FC, one of the best clubs in India. The opportunity to come to India presented itself to me a few years ago, but I felt the time was not right. My conversations with Gerard (Zaragoza) have given me a lot of enthusiasm, and a desire to perform and I think now is the right time for me to move to India and live an intense experience.”
“Pedro is a player with immense experience in the Spanish Segunda B and one who I am sure will do well for us. He’s a leader on the pitch, and both his previous teams earned promotion to La Liga 2. He’s very good at organizing a team’s defensive shape, and one whose tactical intelligence and physical presence will be crucial to our efforts this season. I’m looking forward to having him join the group,” Zaragoza said.
On the other hand, Jamshedpur FC has roped in defender Nishchal Chandan ahead of the new season with an option to extend the contract based on his performance.
The 25-year-old expressed his joy and commitment, stating,” Joining Jamshedpur FC is a dream come true! I’m ecstatic to be a part of a club with such a rich history and to have the opportunity to play in the ISL. I’m grateful to Head Coach Khalid Jamil and the management for believing in me. I’m committed to giving my best efforts and performing to the highest level. My goal is to have a successful debut season, helping the team to have the best defence in the league to make the fans of Jamshedpur proud.”
Head Coach Khalid Jamil shared his enthusiasm about the signing, saying, “Nishchal has a great opportunity ahead of him, but he must be patient and wait for his chance. He needs to showcase his abilities and consistently deliver strong performances to secure his place in the team.”
