Indian Super League outfit Jamshedpur FC has signed the services of dynamic striker Sreekuttan VS. The forward becomes the club’s second signing after Amrit Gope ahead of the new season. The 25-year-old has signed a three-year contract that will keep him with the Men of Steel until 2027.
Sreekuttan’s footballing journey kicked off when the Kerala Blasters reserve team signed him for the Kerala Premier League in 2020. After his impressive performances, the youngster was picked by the senior team ahead of the 2021–22 ISL season.
Noticing his talent, Gokulam Kerala picked Sreekuttan on loan for the 2021-22 season.
While playing for Gokulam Kerala, Sreekuttan scored six goals and provided nine assists in 69 matches he played and thus played an instrumental role in helping the team defend their I-league title.
Expressing his excitement about joining Jamshedpur FC, Sreekuttan said, “I want to extend my heartfelt gratitude to Head Coach Khalid Jamil and the club management for the confidence they have placed in me. Head Coach Khalid Jamil also shared his enthusiasm about the new signing, stating, “Sreekuttan is an excellent addition to our team, significantly enhancing our attacking capabilities. His versatility allows him to play effectively in various positions, providing us with strategic options and adaptability based on the situation. Having been a part of a championship-winning team, he brings a winning mentality and ambition to our squad. Jamshedpur FC finished ISL 2023-24 season in 11th place with five wins in 22 games.
