Bengaluru FC’s full-back Naorem Roshan Singh feels using both feet helped him get out of tricky situations in the Hero Indian Super League 2021-22 season. The Blues didn’t get off to a great start in their campaign however they were able to turn the tables in the second phase of the tournament.
Bengaluru FC finished in sixth place with eight wins in 20 matches with a tally of 29 points and thus could not qualify for the semifinal stages. Naorem Roshan Singh played a key role in helping his team make a comeback to the contest as he provided seven assists in the 17 matches he played.
Singh’s tally of seven assists was the most for any Indian player and third-most in the season behind Greg Stewart and Ahmed Jahouh. Furthermore, he scored one goal for Bengaluru FC.
“It is good to be able to use both of your feet to get you out of the tricky situations or deliver things but still a lot I have to improve. From a young age, I use to work with both feet to make my shooting and passing better,” said Roshan Naorem Singh during an interview with footballmonk.com.
After his impressive return in ISL 2021-22 season for Bengaluru FC, Roshan Singh was able to receive a maiden call-up into the Indian national team for the friendly against Bahrain. He also provided an assist in Blue Tigers’ 1-2 loss.
Singh said it was a great learning experience for him as well as a proud moment.
“It was a massive learning for me and a proud moment to be part of the national team. There are so many things to learn here as it’s a completely different experience than club football,” added the footballer.
Currently, the 23-year-old youngster is training with the national team under the tutelage of head coach Igor Stimac for 2023 AFC Asian Cup qualifiers.
