Jamshedpur FC’s assistant coach Steven Dias admits things are not working after third straight loss

Jamshedpur FC’s assistant coach Steven Dias admitted that things are not working after the third straight loss in the Indian Super League. The Red Miners suffered a 3-0 loss against Mohun Bagan Super Giant at the Vivekananda Yuba Bharati Krirangan Stadium, Kolkata on Saturday.

Tom Aldred, Liston Colaco and Jamie Maclaren scored for the home team but the visitors could not bring their best.

Meanwhile, Jamshedpur FC had only 35.8% possession and could only take two shots on target.

Before this match, Jamshedpur FC suffered a 5-1 loss against Chennaiyin FC whereas they suffered a 5-0 loss against NorthEast United before International break.

“I think if you see the matches, we are doing well, but we are conceding goals. We are also working on it, and how to overcome it. Today, also, the match we started so well, we were keeping shape. We were a well-balanced team,” Dias stated in the post-match press conference.

“When we were analysing Mohun Bagan Super Giant before our match, they scored eight goals from set pieces. So we worked on it, and then again the first goal we conceded was from a set piece. They have individual brilliant players. If you see the second goal, where Liston Colaco scored, it was individual brilliance. So I think right now, things are not going our way. I think we will go back, again we will analyse our mistakes, and hopefully, we will come back stronger,” he added.

With this loss, Jamshedpur FC slipped to the seventh place in the standings. Dias said it is crucial for the players to keep working hard to get back to winning ways.

“Mohun Bagan Super Giant are a good team. One of the best teams in the ISL… I think they played better than us as they won. We need only hard work, go back, train, analyse our training sessions, analyse our mistakes, and minimise our mistakes.”

“Every day in training sessions and reduce our mistakes and then give confidence to each other. I believe in team unity; we have to make it stronger. Yes, that’s it. Hard work is the only solution,” Dias commented.

Jamshedpur FC will play their next match against Mohammedan SC on December 2.
