Mohun Bagan Super Giant’s head coach Jose Molina was happy after team’s convincing 3-0 win against Jamshedpur FC in the ongoing Indian Super League at the Vivekananda Yuba Bharati Krirangan Stadium, Kolkata on Saturday.
Tom Aldred scored his maiden goal for the Mariners in the 15th minute of the game. Subsequently, Liston Colaco scored in the stoppage time of the first half to put his team ahead by 2-0. Jamie Maclaren continued his good form and put the game to bed as he scored in the 75th minute to give a comprehensive 3-0 win to his team.
“It was a very good performance by all the players. I am happy but we need to keep going because we still have a lot of work to do. The job is not done,” Molina said during the post-match press conference.
“We always try to work so that we can score goals and defend better. If you keep clean sheets and score goals, then you win matches. We are at the top of the table right now,” he added.
Meanwhile, the home team’s wingers came up with a solid performance as Colaco scored whereas Manvir Singh provided two assists.
Molina explained, “We try to use the full width of the pitch. We like to keep the wingers open. If they come in, then the full-backs can attack. We have really good wingers who are fast, really good in one-on-one situations and also powerful, they can score goals too. So, they are really important players.”
The Spaniard added that it is difficult to retain the form in the Indian Super League as it is a difficult tournament.
“It’s really difficult to retain the form. ISL is a very difficult championship. If we want to remain top of the table, then we have to be strong every day,” he added.
