Bayern Munich capped off 2025 with a commanding nine-point advantage at the top of the Bundesliga standings, courtesy of a dominant 4-0 victory over Heidenheim.
Harry Kane once again stole the headlines by inscribing his name in the league’s history books during the clash at Voith-Arena.
Under Vincent Kompany’s guidance, the Bavarians struck first in the 15th minute. Michael Olise delivered a pinpoint deep corner, which Jonathan Tah headed back across the goalmouth, allowing Josip Stanisic to nod it home from close range.
The lead doubled in the 32nd minute when Olise capitalized on a loose ball inside the penalty area, calmly slotting it past Heidenheim’s goalkeeper, Diant Ramaj.
After the interval, Heidenheim mounted a brief threat around the 55th minute. Substitute Stefan Schimmer rose highest to meet a cross with a thunderous header, but the crossbar denied him, preserving Bayern’s clean sheet.
The visitors sealed the win with just four minutes left on the clock, as Stanisic turned provider with a precise cross from the right flank, which Luis Diaz headed into the net.
In the dying moments, during the second minute of added time, Kane added the final flourish. Serge Gnabry laid the ball off to him inside the box, and the England skipper unleashed a venomous strike into the bottom corner.
This goal marked his 100th Bundesliga goal involvement, a milestone achieved in a mere 78 appearances, the fastest since records began in the 2004-05 season.
Kane surpassed Arjen Robben’s previous benchmark by 41 games, amassing 81 goals and 19 assists in the process.
Kane’s strike also capped a stellar personal year, where he notched a career-high 51 club goals. Bayern, who dominated with 23 shots and an impressive 4.09 expected goals (xG), extended their unbeaten streak in away Bundesliga matches throughout 2025 to 16 games (12 wins, 4 draws).
This feat echoes their flawless road records in 1986 and 2013, underscoring their relentless form.
The result solidifies Bayern’s position as frontrunners for the title, blending tactical prowess with individual brilliance.
As the year draws to a close, Kompany’s squad looks poised for further success in the new calendar year, with Kane leading the charge.
