Jamshedpur FC head coach Khalid Jamil has lauded his players after a 1-0 win against Kerala Blasters FC at the JRD Tata Sports Complex, Jamshedpur in the ongoing Indian Super League on Sunday.
Pratik Chaudhari scored the only goal of the match in the 61st minute of the game to help his team bag all three points. The Red Miners had 41.9% possession but took six shots on target, two more than the opposition.
“I give all the credit to the boys. Because of the boys (we got the result), they worked very hard. Who is playing, who is not playing (doesn’t matter), they (players) are supporting each other, that is the good thing. We must maintain it like this,” Jamil stated in the post-match press conference.
Jamshedpur FC’s goalkeeper Albino Gomes was brilliant in front of the goal and when asked how difficult Kerala Blasters FC made it for them, Jamil said, “The main thing is we got the three points and that’s the most important thing.”
“Keep supporting Jamshedpur FC.. I want to wish everyone a happy new year. Stay happy and be healthy,” Jamil stated while giving his gratitude to the fans.
Jamshedpur FC will next take on Bengaluru FC at the JRD Tata Sports Complex, Jamshedpur on Saturday.
On the other hand, Kerala Blasters FC interim head coach Purushothaman said they didn’t deserve to lose the match.
“We fought for each and every second, but only from a set piece, we conceded the goal. I think we didn’t deserve to lose this game,” Purushothaman said at the post-match press conference.
“We also created some chances but they were not converted. That’s the part (of the game) we have to fight for, recover from this and go on positively,” he added.
