Man United gearing up for ‘revenge’ season, says Leny Yoro

Manchester United defender Leny Yoro said the club is gearing up for the revenge season. The Red Devils had a horrendous run in the previous season, managing only 11 wins out of the 38 games, drawing 11, and losing 18.

United could only bag 42 points in the season, recording their worst ever edition in the last 50 years. 

Meanwhile, United had a decent run in the preseason in the US, managing wins against Bournemouth and West Ham. Ruben Amorim’s men also drew with Leeds United and Everton.

“When you play for Manchester United, you need to have the mindset of being the best version of yourself,” Yoro said.

“I think what we did last season was a mistake for us. When you’re Manchester United, you cannot be at this position. The fans know it, everyone knows it. I think we understand this.

“This season will be different for us. It will be like a revenge from last season. We need to do better.”

The French defender has put his weight behind the team to turn a corner and come up with consistent performances in the upcoming season.

“We are a big club,” Yoro said. “There are a lot of people that want us to fail and we know that. But there are also a lot of people that want us to do it, to do great things. We just focus on the fans, you know.

“We don’t care about what they say outside, about the media, everyone said bulls— about us last year.

“But I understand because we didn’t do really well. This season will be different, I hope for us. We don’t need to listen to this and just be focused on ourselves.”
