Indian women’s football team winger Manisha Kalyan has completed a move to Greek club AEK Athens, marking another significant milestone in her growing international career.
The 24-year-old joins AEK from Peruvian side Alianza Lima Femenino, becoming part of her fourth overseas club after successful spells in Cyprus, Greece and Peru. Her latest transfer underlines her continued presence in European football and reinforces her status as one of India’s leading women’s footballers.
Manisha began her domestic career with Sethu FC before moving to Gokulam Kerala, where her performances earned her an opportunity to play abroad. In 2022, she signed for Cypriot club Apollon Ladies FC and created history by becoming the first Indian footballer to feature in the UEFA Women’s Champions League.
During her time at Apollon Ladies, she made 46 appearances and scored 16 goals, establishing herself as a key attacking player. Her impressive performances paved the way for another move in 2024, when she joined Greek side PAOK.
At PAOK, Manisha continued to make an impact, registering eight goals and five assists in 23 appearances. Her consistent displays further strengthened her reputation as one of India’s most accomplished football exports.
Her move to AEK Athens now opens a fresh chapter in her career as she looks to continue her development in Greek football.
Alongside her club achievements, Manisha has remained an integral part of the Indian women’s national team since making her senior debut in 2019. She has scored 15 goals in 53 appearances for the Blue Tigresses, becoming one of the team’s most reliable attacking players.
One of the standout moments of her international career came earlier this year in the AFC Women’s Asian Cup, where she scored a stunning goal against Chinese Taipei, adding another memorable highlight to her growing list of achievements.
With experience across multiple countries and leagues, Manisha’s latest move to AEK Athens reflects her steady rise in international football.
