Kerala Blasters FC interim head coach Purushothaman hailed his players after a thrilling 3-2 win against Odisha FC at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, Kochi on Monday in the ongoing Indian Super League.
The visitors’ midfielder Mawihmingthanga scored the opening goal of the match in the fourth minute. However, the Yellow Tuskers were able to take a 2-1 lead after goals from Kwame Peprah and Jesus Jimenez in the second half.
Dori equalized for the Kalinga Warriors in the 80th minute however Noah Sadaoui scored the match-winning goal in injury time.
“It was all our plan. We were strict to follow this. We followed it, and we knew that after 60 minutes, 70 minutes, we could achieve this,” he said in the post-match press conference.
“We were planning for that, and it was our game plan for today. And we achieved it. So, mostly little things to work on, and we will go forward like this,” he added.
Meanwhile, youngster Korou Singh provided the assist for Peprah’s goal and the gaffer showered praise on the forward.
Praising Singh’s stellar performances in recent games, the Blasters’ head coach said, “Obviously, our club has produced a lot of young players for the ISL, the national team, and everything. So, it is coming up.”
“And not only Koro Singh; each and every player in the team has to deliver what they have to do. And as a team, they are doing it. And hopefully, we will achieve everything in the coming days,” Purushothaman further added.
Kerala Blasters FC is in eighth place in the standings with six wins, two draws eight losses, and a total of 20 points. The Yellow Tuskers will next take on NorthEast United at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, Kochi on Saturday.
