Arsenal’s summer transfer plans are beginning to take shape, and two names continue to appear near the top of the club’s shortlist: Morgan Rogers and Eli Junior Kroupi.
Both players represent different solutions to different needs within Mikel Arteta’s squad, yet they share one important characteristic, they fit the profile of footballers Arsenal have increasingly targeted in recent years. Young, versatile, technically gifted, and capable of developing even further under elite coaching.
Now, one of Arsenal’s most respected former players has publicly endorsed the idea.
Club legend Ray Parlour believes both Rogers and Kroupi would strengthen the Premier League champions and help the Gunners continue building a squad capable of competing for major honors both domestically and in Europe.
With Arsenal expected to invest heavily once again, Parlour sees these two emerging stars as smart additions rather than luxury purchases.
Among Arsenal supporters, Rogers has become one of the most discussed transfer targets of the summer.
The Aston Villa star enjoyed another impressive campaign and has rapidly developed into one of the Premier League’s most complete attacking players. His ability to carry the ball over long distances, beat defenders in one-on-one situations, and contribute in multiple attacking roles has attracted attention from several elite clubs.
For Arsenal, that versatility is particularly appealing.
Arteta has consistently favored players capable of adapting to different tactical systems, and Rogers offers exactly that. He can operate from the left wing, drift centrally behind the striker, or contribute from deeper positions when necessary.
Parlour believes those qualities would make him a natural fit at the Emirates Stadium.
The former Arsenal midfielder highlighted Rogers’ ability to play both wide and centrally, giving the manager additional flexibility when rotating the squad throughout a long season.
His arrival could also have consequences for the current group.
Competition on Arsenal’s left side has intensified in recent years, and the potential addition of Rogers would inevitably raise questions about the futures of players such as Gabriel Martinelli and Leandro Trossard. Both have produced important moments for the club, but neither has completely locked down the position as an undisputed starter.
That uncertainty is one reason Arsenal continue exploring elite options.
Any deal would be expensive. Aston Villa reportedly value Rogers at around $105 million USD, reflecting both his current level and future potential. Yet Arsenal appear willing to consider major investments if they believe the player can elevate the team further.
While Rogers would arrive as a proven Premier League performer, Kroupi represents something slightly different.
The Bournemouth forward is viewed by many scouts as one of the most exciting young attacking talents currently emerging in European football. Despite his age, he has already demonstrated an impressive ability to impact matches and perform under pressure.
Parlour is particularly enthusiastic about what Kroupi could become under Arteta’s guidance.
