Tottenham have reached an agreement with Manchester City to sign Brazilian winger Savinho in a deal worth an initial £75 million.
The transfer could eventually rise to £85m, with a further £10m included in potential add-ons. The 22-year-old is now expected to undergo a medical before completing a long-term move to north London.
The agreement brings Tottenham closer to securing a player they have pursued for more than a year. Spurs attempted to sign Savinho last summer, but the winger chose to remain at Manchester City.
That decision did not lead to regular football, however. Savinho struggled for consistent opportunities under Pep Guardiola last season and made only seven Premier League starts.
Tottenham head coach Roberto de Zerbi has turned his attention towards improving the attack after significant investment in midfield. Spurs have already spent a combined £185m to bring in Mateus Fernandes from West Ham and Sandro Tonali from Newcastle.
Savinho’s expected arrival will take Tottenham’s summer spending beyond £300m. The club has offset part of that investment by raising around £140m from the departures of Cristian Romero, Djed Spence and Luka Vuskovic.
Spurs may not be finished in the transfer market either.
Talks over another Manchester City attacker, Omar Marmoush, are progressing positively, according to sources. The Egypt international joined City from Eintracht Frankfurt for £59m in 2025 but slipped down the attacking order last season.
Liverpool forward Cody Gakpo also remains on Tottenham’s radar. However, there is uncertainty over whether Spurs would be able to finance a move for the Netherlands international if they complete deals for both Savinho and Marmoush.
The scale of Tottenham’s transfer activity underlines the club’s efforts to reshape De Zerbi’s squad, with attacking reinforcements now the main focus after their major midfield additions.
Savinho must first complete his medical before his transfer is formally concluded.
Tottenham begin their Premier League campaign away at Brentford on Saturday, with kick-off scheduled for 17:30 BST. Manchester City start their season a day later, hosting Bournemouth on Sunday at 14:00 BST.
