Brazil’s former legendary player Ronaldo Nazario has picked France to be the favorite to go all the way in the ongoing FIFA World Cup. Les Bleus had beaten Croatia by 4-2 in the final of the 2018 World Cup and Ronaldo has backed Didier Deschamps’ team to successfully defend their crown.
France will face Morocco in the second semifinal on Wednesday night. Morocco has stunned one and all and they became the first African nation to make it to the semis in the World Cup.
Meanwhile, France has been coming up with a collective show and they are definitely a force to reckon with. On the other hand, Ronaldo backed Kylian Mbappe to finish as the best player in the ongoing marquee event in Qatar. Mbappe has got the speed under his repertoire and he is almost unstoppable when he gets going.
The PSG Saint Germain forward has scored five goals in five matches of the World Cup for France.
Speaking to the media in Doha, Ronaldo said, “I can talk about how fast Mbappe is, how good he is and he reminded me of when I played,” he said. “He knows how to use his ability, how to go faster than the other players and use that ability to assist or score.”
“I think France is the favorite team now to win the World Cup. I said that before the World Cup starts and, for me, Mbappe is going to be the best player at this World Cup.”
France has been the best team in the tournament so far and it will be difficult for Morocco to put the breaks on them.
Meanwhile, Argentina will face Croatia in the other semifinal, which will be played at the Lusail Stadium on Tuesday night.
