Jamshedpur FC head coach Khalid Jamil was delighted after their 2-1 win against Hyderabad FC in the Indian Super League at the JRD Tata Sports Complex, Jamshedpur on Monday. Rui Tachikawa scored in the 29th minute for the home team whereas Jordan Murray doubled the team’s lead in the 44th minute.
Cy Goddard scored in the 50th minute for Hyderabad FC but the hosts registered a 2-1 win. Jamshedpur FC had 42.5% possession and took five shots on target but more importantly, they were able to bag all three points.
This was the third consecutive home win for the Red Miners in the ongoing season and Jamil was a happy man after the match.
Khalid Jamil said in the post-match press conference, “Yes, we are very happy.”
“Everyone is working very hard; that’s the most important thing. We must continue (playing) like this. We must play as a team and work hard again,” he added.
Jamshedpur FC will next take on NorthEast United FC in an away game in Guwahati and Jamil said they need to improve on a few areas.
“We have many things to improve,” he remarked.
“Let’s see after tomorrow. We’ll discuss as a team because we are going to play away against a good team,” Jamil signed off.
Meanwhile, Jamshedpur FC goalkeeper Albino Gomes recorded his joint-highest number of saves in a single game, registering seven saves against Hyderabad FC. Hyderabad FC took eight shots on target but Gomes was able to keep the opposition at bay.
Jamshedpur FC have got off to a perfect start in the 11th season of the ISL as they have recorded four wins and one loss in five matches they have played.
