Former Germany midfielder Toni Kroos observed Cristiano Ronaldo from close quarters while playing with him for La Liga giants Real Madrid from 2014 to 2018. The German noted how hard the Portuguese worked on his game to get the best out of himself.
While giving a motivational speech to the young bunch of boys, Kroos said we always see the end product. However, the talisman midfielder said Ronaldo was able to savor success at the top level as he put in the hard yards behind the scenes in training sessions.
Speaking to Academy Kids, as reported by Madrid Xtra, Kroos said, “You should always strive to be the best version of yourself. One of my favorite examples is Cristiano Ronaldo. You only see the finished product. You don’t see the work he puts in,” Kroos said to the next generation.
Meanwhile, Kroos and Ronaldo helped Los Blancos end their Champions League Trophy drought and also completed a three-peat of Europe’s biggest title.
Kroos, who recently played the last match for Germany in Euro 2024, said Ronaldo has a lot of fascination for fast cars.
“What people see is that he scores a ton of goals and drives fast cars. I was his next-door neighbor, and I can say that he has a lot of fast cars. I also have one,” Toni Kroos quipped while sharing a giggle.
Kroos revealed Ronaldo was there in the training session before anyone else and left the ground after everyone was done with their practice.
“Every time I went to training, his car was already there. Every time I left training, his car was still there. What he achieved was because of incredible ambition and hard work,” the German said.
Ronaldo scored 35 goals and provided 11 assists in 31 matches in the previous season of the Saudi Pro League 2023-24 for Al-Nassr.
