Plethora of Prospects Unleashed – An Epic Showdown Awaits!

UPB Season 3, Edition 5 – This one would see some quality Prospects unleashed on to the Pro-scene and some current ones claiming their dominance.

With the UPB Fight Club Season 3, Edition 5 knocking on doors, fans, pundits, and enthusiasts eagerly await the showcase of some of the much talked about Prospects, their moments of brilliance, and the unpredictable twists which could unfold in the Ring. In this pre-fight article, we delve into the matchups, storylines, and the potential for glory as we preview the forthcoming premiere of some of the top boxing talents on the circuit.

The Main Fight of the evening is in the Middleweight category for 6 Rounds, between Shashikant, who has had a mixed bag of sorts in 2023 with the unpredictable Yugandhar Tambat. Shashi would prefer to leverage on his wait-and-watch style to conquer over Tambat, as he’s called by his mates, who has had tough luck in his first International outing in Bangladesh a couple of months ago, just when he was starting a winning streak again. If Tambat can keep his wits about himself throughout the bout, which is his weak point, then he’ll be tough to beat. And that is what highly likely Shashi would attempt to put Tambat through and test his temperament. This is a highly unpredictable match-up and would thus keep the audience on tenterhooks throughout the bout. A worthy main card of a highly volatile fight card in the evening!

The Co-Main Fight, in the Welterweight division for 6 Rounds, between Dushyant and Anuj is going to be anything but one-sided for Dushyant, as Anuj has shown in his limited appearances that he’s not someone to be taken lightly as both his previous losses were very close calls. Dushyant, the Monk who choses to Box, as he’s fondly joked about due to his sedentary lifestyle, is anything but saintly in the Ring as he’s proven in all his previous Fights post-Covid however Anuj will most certainly going to trouble Dushyant like he troubled both his previous opponents.

The Super Bantamweight 4 Round clash between D Anil and Mohit Kumar is going to be interesting because of the backstories at play here. Mohit is desperate to get back to winning ways since his last win three years ago. Whilst D Anil would want to recover from his shock defeat two months ago after his KO win at debut. It could be more of a do-or-die bout of sorts.

One of the more interesting Bouts of the evening is between Pankaj Paswan and Shubham Chauhan in the Flyweight division. Pankaj scored a win on his debut against the more experienced Nikhil Raj CK in September whilst Shubham secured his first win a month earlier, both on UPB Fight Club editions. Pankaj showed his technical ability in his debut Fight and would want to improve his record with another similar display whereas Shubham is more of a rugged brawler, who’d have to fight significantly better than how he performed against Vinay to get something out of this bout and everyone on the circuit knows how keen he is to not lose again. Overall, this bout would have contrasting approaches to attain a step forward in career for one and step forward in redemption for another.

In another 4 Round clash in the Cruiserweight category, Ravi Dhama would test his mettle against debutant Deepak Sharma, who has won several medals in the Amateur circuit. It is interesting to note that Ravi suffered both of his previous losses due to a nose injury induced stoppages, which he has claimed to have had fixed in the last six months and he’s raring to go now. Deepak would be well aware of this and would want to go for the nose straight away. However, if what Ravi claims is true and has devised techniques for protection, then Ravi can be quite devastating as he exhibited in his debut win. This one would be one for the galleries, truly!

The Welterweight clash between Bharat Solanki, a serial medal winner at the State-level in the Amateur circuit would be against two Fight veteran Rahul Saini. Rahul won his last Fight with a first round TKO against Manish Kumar after his previous loss was declared a ‘No Contest’ when the reviewing Judge’s panel unanimously found him to have won the Bout. This would be a very interesting clash with two aggressive and talented boys going at each other for a coveted win.

Kicking off the event in the Super Flyweight division is a battle of debutants and if it can be called a battle of two-states. Devender Pal, a medal winner in the state of Haryana, steps into the ring against the Punjab State-level medallist Harsh Sharma. This event opener would be a difficult one to call as both come with good pedigree and glowing recommendations. Plus this would excite their fans as well because only one of the neighbouring states might claim the honours on the opening fight night for these boys. This is definitely a looking-forward-to kind of Fight.

As the countdown to the event begins, fans can’t help but be captivated by the diverse array of talent, stories, and aspirations that these Prospects bring to the Ring. Each matchup offers a unique blend of skills, experiences, and ambitions, promising a night of thrilling punches, skillful footwork, and fierce determination. It would mark the start of the journey for some superstar Boxers of tomorrow like so many of the previous UPB Fight Club events have done in the past.
