Freedom to express oneself on this Independence Day!

UPB Season 3, Edition 3 – This Independence Day, the Fights are an opportunity for the youngsters to express themselves in the Ring.

UPB Fight Club Season 3 continues with its 3rd Edition with an eclectic mix of Bouts, as India celebrates its 77th Independence Day. The key feature of this event is that Boxers from different parts of the Country are coming to participate, and also 1 from Afghanistan.

The Main Fight of 6 Rounds in the Super Featherweight division between Pawan Kumar and Rohan is expected to be one between survival and sustenance, two very powerful human emotions. Pawan, with his two back-to-back losses is desperate to get to his 2nd win as that would keep his hopes alive to progress in the circuit whereas Rohan would not want to sully his record with another loss, more so as he’s coming back after a hiatus of 1.5 years. Pawan, as shown in his previous 2 Bouts with more accomplished Boxers, seems to possess a great heart and a good chin, and is likely to go all out for a win this time around.

The Co-Main Fight, in the Bantamweight division, between Amarnath and Pawan Arya is anything but one-sided for Pawan, as Amarnath has proven on previous occasions that he’s not a pushover. Pawan would want to continue his winning streak, with the number of know-outs he’s had however Amarnath has worked on his defensive skills over the last year and a half, thus would be a more difficult opponent to beat than all the previous ones.

The Super Welterweight Fight between Abhishek Kumar and Sumit Kumar is going to be a brawl. Abhishek is an aggressive Fighter and is looking at his career now as a comeback of sorts due to the break he’d had due to personal reasons and is extremely geared up whilst Sumit would want to win again, after Nepal, which he cherished very much, as it came to him after a string of losses and he’s determined to not have another red dot of his record.

One of the most interesting Bouts of the evening is between Shubham Chauhan and Vinay Verma in the Super Flyweight division, and it is so because both are desperate to open their win account. Shubham is a technical Boxer and prefers to look for chinks in the opponents armour / guard to strike whereas Vinay is an aggressive starter in his Bouts and likes to capture early advantage. Their contrasting styles and absolute need to notch up the first win would make this a very engaging Fight to watch and could go either way in the end.

The first Bout featuring a debutant shall be the second Fight of the evening between Anuj Chahal and Priyaranjan Nayak in the Super Lightweight division. Anuj had his Debut in March in the UPB event in Nepal and gave Sumit Kumar a run for his money in that one, failing just by virtue of lack of experience. Priyaranjan, on the other hand, is a Medallist at National and State level and is touted as one of most promising Talents to be turning Professional in this Season. This will be a Fight where along with Talent, even the nerves , of these youngsters are going to be on display.

The International flavour in this event is added by the Cruiserweight Bout between debutant Alok Singh and Taher Khuram from Afghanistan. Alok is state level champion and sought after Talent from the Amateur circuit whereas Taher has been very eager to right the KO loss which he had last December. Stakes are high for both the Boxers in this one.

The curtain raiser for the evening is the Super Flyweight Bout between Shanborlag and Prasad, both having two fight experience. Sharborlang is one of the most exciting Talents from North-East India whilst Prasad is eager to nurse the wounds of his previous narrow loss. This Fight would give audiences a flavour of the aggressive North East style versus the technical Western India style of Boxing, providing an opportunity for these youngsters to express themselves in the Ring.

With each bout offering a unique blend of style, talent, passion, and determination, UPB Fight Club Season 3, Edition 3 on this Independence Day, is set to be an unforgettable evening of professional boxing excitement. This coming together of the spirit of boxing with the youngsters of the Sport in action, promises to be an adrenaline-pumping action that will surely leave the viewers on the edge of their seat!
