Sensational Boxing to Heat-up Delhi’s Winter Night!

UPB Season 3, Edition 6 – 2 International Fights, 4 Top Domestic Prospects, Eclectic Environment – All point to an unforgettable year-end Boxing explosion!

As the curtains come down on the year, 2023 has been an amazing year for Boxing and UPB with Dafanews’ UPB Fight Club romping home with 6 successful events so far this calendar year. With the year-end action day upon us tomorrow, this promises to heat things up in Delhi’s winter.

The Main Fight of the evening is in the Featherweight category for 8 Rounds, between the undefeated Keisham Luckysun Singh, who is rearing to seal-off the year with another emphatic win to move on to potentially more International Fights in future and maybe Belts also. A homegrown talent from the start, he is one of the best Prospects from the Country and could qualify for Regional Titles should he conquers over Wahedulla from Afghanistan tomorrow. Lucky has matured over the last 2 years in that he now studies and takes time with his opponents rather than go in like a raging bull from the start. Wahed is also a measured Fighter and won’t be easily cornered, and his counter-punching skills are quite good, with which he would try to catch Lucky off-guard.

The other International Fight is between the Nigerian powerhorse Blessing Bukola Dada and India’s Muskan Verma is a 6 Round Flyweight Bout. Blessing is the KO Queen with 5 wins by knock-outs and 2 UD wins in her short Fight career. But all those who have seen her say that she is a world champion material and could have a glowing career ahead. Muskan on the other hand is a very brave Fighter and has had a narrow draw and loss in her previous two Fights. This is a very high level test for her so early in her career and one that she would be very keen to ace.

The other Featherweight Bout between Pawan Kumar Arya and Vishal Singh Solanki shall be contested over 6 Rounds. Pawan is coming back from a shock defeat in Bangladesh which tainted his otherwise superlative start to a professional career. He is desperate to get back to winning ways and treat that loss as a stepping stone towards a more potent record rather than a slippery slope. And that is what Vishal would try his best to create for Pawan, a slippery slope!

The 6 Round Super Welterweight contest between Rohit Kumar and Rohit Saini is the Fight to watch out for in the evening. Kumar, who is making his comeback after a year is super kicked to continue from where he left off last December, a knock-out blow to Vishwas at UPB Fight Club Season 2, Episode 3. He is a lethal Boxer when he is in the right frame of mind, which is presently as well, however Saini started his career with some impressive winning performances and will not be a pushover for Kumar. This is undoubtedly the toughest Fight to call on the night and would be worth every minute of the audiences’ and viewers’ time.

The other comeback Bout of the night would be between Pawan Kumar and Sandeep Kumar in the Lightweight Division for 6 Rounds. Pawan, after 4 consecutive losses in the last 6 months is itching to get a win. He has got one of best chins on the circuit and is never afraid to get inside in order to punch and score. This has usually opened him up to his opponents and they have been smarter than him, something Sandeep would try to do tomorrow. However, Pawan has been training harder and would want to be gritty enough to eke out a win, making this a delectable Bout to watch.

Kicking off the event in the Light Heavyweight division is a 4 Round battle of two Fighters who both would want to score their first win on the pro-circuit. This is going to be a clash of two heavy-duties in terms of punching power and both would want to outscore the other. But anyone who has seen them both in their initial Bouts would assess that the slow and steady would be more likely to win this race rather than the one who starts out all guns blazing.

The stage is set at NSCI, Delhi, one of the oldest and most prestigious Sports Clubs in India. It has hosted many Sports stars over the years and now hosts a professional boxing event for the first time. There is palpable excitement in the air and among the Club members and hopefully would complement our otherwise full house online audience across the globe. So get Punching!
