Scottie Scheffler returned to the winner’s circle at the FedEx St. Jude Championship, beating Si Woo Kim by eight shots at TPC Southwind in Memphis to claim his first PGA Tour title since January.
The world number one closed with a 4-under 66 on Sunday to finish at 17-under 263 and open the FedExCup Playoffs with a commanding victory.
Scheffler entered the final round with a two-shot lead after three rounds, having already built a great advantage with a course-record 61 on Friday.
His four-round total of 68-61-68-66 was enough to keep the chasing group well behind him throughout the weekend.
His 9-under 61 on the second day matched the TPC Southwind course record and gave him a three-shot lead at the halfway stage.
He followed it with a 2-under 68 on Saturday, although a bogey at the 17th reduced his advantage to two heading into Sunday.
Scheffler did not allow that lead to disappear. He opened the final round with a bogey but responded with five birdies, including birdies at the 11th, 13th and 16th holes.
Those shots extended his advantage and left Kim with little chance of mounting a late challenge.
Kim finished alone in second at 9-under 271, while Scheffler completed the tournament at 17 under.
The eight-shot margin was the largest victory on the PGA Tour this season and the biggest winning margin at the FedEx St. Jude Championship since the tournament moved to TPC Southwind.
The victory is Scheffler’s 21st on the PGA Tour and his second of 2026. His previous win came at The American Express in January, after which he collected a series of high finishes without adding another title.
He had finished runner-up five times during that period, and had been chasing a win for months now, before Sunday’s victory.
The result also strengthens Scheffler’s position in the FedExCup standings as the playoffs move into their next stage.
Winning the opening playoff event gives him another points advantage as the field narrows and the season-long championship approaches its conclusion. The victory also came with a $3.6 million prize.
