Odisha Juggernauts are the inaugural champions of the Ultimate Kho Kho League 2022 after they defeated Telugu Yoddhas by 46-45 in a thrilling contest at the Shree Shiv Chhatrapati Sports Complex in Pune on Sunday. Odisha Juggernauts won the toss and decided to defend first against the Yoddhas in the final clash of the tournament.
The Juggernauts got off to a perfect start as Gowtham M K and Nilesh Jadhav combined for an eight-point Dream Run. Dilip Khandavi continued his good form as he scored Dream Run for the Juggernauts.
The match went down to the wire as Telugu Yoddhas had a two-point lead at 45-43. However, Odisha Juggernauts attacker Suraj Lande got rid of Avdhut Patil to win the match for his team and led them to the title.
Arun Gunki scored four points as an attacker for Telugu Yoddhas while Dilip Khandavi once again impressed as he spent 2:04 minutes on the mat as a defender.
It was a nail-biting final as the two best teams of the tournament gave their best. The Juggernauts scored 21 Sky Dive points while the Yoddhas managed 18. The champions added three Pole Dive points whereas the Yoddhas could not manage any of them.
The Juggernauts won a total of eight Touch Points while the Yoddhas won 10 of them. Both the teams scored 14 each Batch Bonus points. The Yoddhas also managed three Self-Out points.
