Indian wrestling has been making waves all over the world.
Many too Indian wrestlers have won medals and trophies at every continental and global competition. Whether it is the seniors’ category or any other age group tournaments, Indian wrestlers kept on breaking records.
At the 2020 Asian Wrestling Championships, the Indian team won 5 gold medals, 6 silver medals, and 9 bronze medals.

Ravi Kumar Dahiya
The 23-year-old enjoyed a meteoric rise in Indian wrestling in the past two years. He was the surprising package in the year 2019 when he won the bronze medal at the senior World Championships in Nur-Sultan in the 57kg category. By doing that, Dhaiya secured his place in the 2021 Olympic as well. Earlier on, Dhaiya had won the silver medal at the 2018 U23 World Championships.
He won the gold medal at the 2020 Asian Wrestling Championships in New Delhi in the 57kg.
Deepak Punia
The 19-year-old is undoubtedly one of the best Indian male wrestlers of 2020. He had a terrific year when he burst into the limelight in 2019.
That year, Deepak Punia became the first Indian wrestler ever to clinch the gold medal at the Junior World Championships in Estonia.
In doing that, he became the only Indian wrestler in 2019 to make it to the finals of the senior world wrestling championships.
He won the bronze medal at the 2020 New Delhi Asian Wrestling Championships in 86kg freestyle.
Bajrang Punia
The 26-year-old has left an indelible mark on Indian wrestling, and will be remembered as one of the all-time great in the country.
This freestyle wrestler from competes in 65 kg weight category and has won three medals at the World Wrestling Championships. He had a splendid year in 2019 when he won the Asian Championship Gold back in February that year.
Back in January 2020, Bajrang defeated Jordan Oliver 4-3 in the final of the 65kg freestyle category at the 2020 Rome Ranking Series.
