World No.1 Carlos Alcaraz has shed light on his rivalry with Jannik Sinner. Alcaraz said the Italian keeps pushing him to the limits and that’s what he enjoys the most. The Spaniard has a never-say-die kind of attitude on the court and gives his all.
Meanwhile, Alcaraz and Sinner are the two best players on the tour and have shared the last eight Slams between them. Alcaraz has a 10-6 win-loss record against Sinner and won the US Open and Roland Garros finals against the Italian in 2025.
While World No. 1 Carlos Alcaraz has 12,050 official points under his belt, Sinner, the second-ranked player in the PIF ATP rankings, has 11,500 points. The World No.3 Alexander Zverev has 5160 points in his bag, which goes to show the difference between the duo and the rest of the players.
Asked about their rivalry, Alcaraz pointed out what he likes most about it: “When I think we push each other, you know, to be better, so I think that’s what I keep from this good rivalry. Everybody needs someone that pushes you to be better to give you your 100% and I think that’s what we’re doing, you know, every time.”
Sinner, on the other hand, added that it is good for the sport to have different personalities who have different game styles.
Sinner added: “Yeah, I mean, I believe everyone is different, you know, in a way, so it’s good for the sport to have different personalities and game styles, and it’s great, you know, to share a court with him.
“You know, I see a completely different point of view, how to approach certain points, and it’s great.”
Sinner and Alcaraz would look to be at their best in the upcoming Australian Open.
