US Open champion Emma Raducanu is looking for experienced coaching after bowing out of the second round of the Indian Wells Open. The Briton star lost to Aliaksandra Sasnovich of Belarus in straight sets by 2-6, 4-6.
Raducanu had parted ways with her previous coach Andrew Richardson with which he lifted the coveted US Open trophy and stunned everyone with her stellar performance. Since then Raducanu has been looking for a permanent coach and he will want someone with good experience, to guide her on the right track.
The rising star could not bring her best to the table in the second round of the BNP Paribas Open and was knocked out. The 18-year old was assisted by Lawn Tennis Association coach Jeremy Bates.
“I think that I would love to have someone with great experience right now by my side so if any experienced coaches are out there looking, you know where to find me,” Raducanu told the media.
“So I don’t know what’s going on, I don’t know what’s going to happen next but I’m sure my team and everyone will try and find a solution, she continued. “I wasn’t joking. If anyone knows any experienced coaches.”
Brit added that her target is longevity in her career and this loss will give her experience to bounce back stronger.
“I don’t think it affected me because I didn’t really look up at the box too often,” Raducanu said.”I think that what happened tonight was just down to experience,” she added. “I’ve got a very long future ahead of me, potentially 15, 20 years in the game. My priority is that longevity and I’m at the very start.”
Raducanu will now look to come back stronger and there is no doubt that she has got a lot of talent under her bag.
