Hamad Medjedovic has showered praise on his countryman Novak Djokovic’s longevity. Djokovic, who recently turned 37, is still going strongly at the top level. The Serbian is a 24-time Grand Slam champion and has been bringing his best to the tour.
Djokovic is well known for lifting his game at the crucial stages of the big matches and has proved his mettle on multiple occasions. He has been unstoppable and barring Rafael Nadal, not many players have challenged him in the last few seasons.
Djokovic has an insatiable hunger to keep improving and getting the job done on the big stage.
“For his birthday yesterday we were texting, he congratulated me on my matches here. We’re always keeping in touch and we have had a great relationship for years,” Medjedovic said in an interview with rolandgarros.com.
“It’s unexplainable what he’s still doing, it feels like he’s from another planet. He’s 37, playing like he’s 25, it’s crazy. But we all know Novak, he has no limits,” Medjedovic added.
Meanwhile, Djokovic is yet to win a single title in the ongoing season. The veteran lost to Jannik Sinner in the semifinals of the Australian Open, which he has won on 10 occasions.
Djokovic was recently stunned by Alejandro Tabilo in the second round of the Italian Open. The 24-time Grand Slam champion is currently taking part in the Geneva Open and he will face Tomas Machac in the semifinal on Friday. Djokovic will take on France’s Pierre-Hugues Herbert in the opening round of the French Open.
On the other hand, Hamad Medjedovic has won all of his three qualifiers in the French Open and will take part in the main draw.
