Orlando Magic’s forward Jonathan Isaac suffered a severe injury during the fourth quarter in the match against Sacramento Kings. The incident happened during the Sunday match between the two sides and Isaac has suffered a torn ACL in his left knee, which has ruled him out indefinitely. Isaac was drawing to the basket when he suffered the severe injury and he could be out for a long time.
This is a big blow for Orlando Magic as Isaac was in fine form in the season. In fact, Isaac was seen writhing in pain on the floor and some of his teammates even had tears in their eyes when he was receiving the treatment on the court. Isaac was finally taken off in a wheelchair.
An MRI revealed the extent of the injury, which happened when less than 10 minutes were left in the game and it was known that he tore his left ACL.
So far, there is no indication whether a surgery will be required. But the team confirmed that Isaac has been ruled out indefinitely and his return to the game will depend on how his body will respond to rehabilitation and treatment.
Magic will definitely miss the services of Jonathan Isaac as he had been in sublime form. Isaac was averaging 12 points and 6.9 rebounds and he was doing a fine job for Magic’s defense.
Meanwhile, Isaac had suffered a major left knee injury on January 1 against the Washington Wizards and it was thought that his season would be over. However, the break due to the coronavirus pandemic gave a chance to the 22-year old to recuperate in time.
Isaac’s Magic teammate Markelle Fultz stated it was tough to see him in pain and he would pray for the speedy recovery of the team’s forward.
“It was tough seeing it, knowing what he’s been through and knowing the work he put in to get back out here. I immediately, when he went down, I just started to pray for him. We’re hoping everything works out the best for him,” Markelle Fultz said. “He’s such a good guy and worked extremely hard to get out there. The whole gym just went quiet when it happened so it was a lot of sadness and we’re praying for the best.”
