India’s flamboyant batsman KL Rahul has heaped praise on current skipper Virat Kohli. Rahul stated that one can be best at his 100 percent but Kohli operates at 200.
Kohli is well known to always give more than his 100% and there is no room for complacency in his game.
The Indian captain tries to give his best every time he takes the field and he likes to take the bull by its horns. Kohli plays with a lot of passion and the same is palpable in his actions on the field.
The talisman is always pumped up and he likes to get under the skin of the opposition. Rahul added that Kohli has the ability to carry the 10 players and push them from 100 to 200. Kohli has already upgraded Team India’s fitness levels as he has led from the front. Furthermore, Kohli has played a key role in getting the best out of India’s pace battery.
“Playing with and under Virat Kohli, he is a different sort of captain. He is a very passionate individual. He operates at 200. 100 is the best you possibly can be at, but he operates at 200. He has the unbelievable ability to carry the other 10 guys and pull them from 100 to 200,” Rahul said in a video for Forbes India.
Meanwhile, Kohli’s captaincy has come under the scanner as he hasn’t been able to lead India to any major ICC title under his leadership.
On the other hand, KL Rahul lauded former Indian skipper MS Dhoni. Rahul added that the first name which comes to their mind when they hear the word captain is MS Dhoni. The Punjab Kings captain went on to add that they can take a bullet for Dhoni without a second thought.
Rahul opined, “The minute anybody says captain, the first name that comes to mind from our era will be MS Dhoni”.
“We have all played under him. Yes, he has won a lot of tournaments, done amazing things for the country but I think the biggest achievement that as captain you can have is the respect of your teammates and any of us would take a bullet for him without a second thought.
“Something I have learned from him is how humble he has been through ups and downs, how he has put his country ahead of everything is just unbelievable.”
