Kerala Blasters FC interim coach Purushothaman hailed the team’s effort after their convincing 3-0 win against Mohammedan SC at the Jawaharlal Nehru International Stadium, Kochi in the ongoing Indian Super League 2024-25 on Sunday.
After a goalless first half, Mohammedan SC goalkeeper Bhaskar Roy scored an own goal to break the deadlock. Subsequently, Noah Sadaoui and Alexandre Coeff found the back of the net in the 80th and 90th minute respectively to help the Yellow Tuskers bag all three points.
“As I said before.. this is teamwork. And all the boys did their job, what they can do. And this is appreciable from their side. As professionals, they have to do this. And they’re doing it absolutely in the right manner. Sometimes we went for an unlucky time. So that created some defeats for us also. We are coming up and this is a good motivation for all the players to come up for the next match. And we are concentrating on the next match. That’s it,” Purushothaman said in the press conference.
The home team dominated the possession with 54.6% and took five shots on target.
Purushothaman acknowledged the collective effort of his squad he said,”No much more changes, but just the concentration, focus. And what they have to do, the simple things to be positive. Like that only. Nothing, no more changes. Just simple and effectful. That’s it.”
Kwame Peprah and Miloš Drinčić were brilliant for the hosts as they delivered once again on the pitch.
Speaking on the team’s performance, “Yeah, absolutely. our boys did it in a great manner. So this is how we performed as a team. And we have to keep this moment high. And hopefully, we’ll do it for the next match. And we’ll get the three points.”
Kerala Blasters FC will face Jamshedpur FC at the JRD Tata Sports Complex, Jamshedpur on 29th December.
